Bunuru Season: A Garden Update from Nadia

With the hottest time of year upon us, we have been mulching our beds to protect the soil and are very thankful to the shade we have in the garden – thankful to the trees and other cooling structures.

Here is one of our amazing volunteers Tabitha, who helped us stitch together some more shade sails to help the garden thrive.

Keeping us (and the gardens) cool on these high temp days.

Our Chickens – With New Names!

We are loving having chickens back at the Farm, they are the best!
We feed them lots of goodies from the garden and Tabitha has been seeding these trays of diverse greens each week so they get living greens every few days amongst the other garden goodies.

Thank you to everyone who helped name our chickens – come by and say hello!

Black Betty, Gertrude, Buffy, Thom and Yokie enjoying their greens.

What We Have Been Harvesting:

There’s been plenty of rocket, mizuna, lettuce, spring onions, chilli, parsley, basil and beetroot. Our Friday volunteers come and pick, wash and pack these goodies for local cafes use and Saturday Farmer’s Market.

Our lovely volunteers, Chloe and Bratati, with our weekly harvest.

Fresh Blooms From the Farm

Take a look at the gorgeous flowers we have been growing here on the Farm. Our lovely volunteer Nicola has been making these beautiful bouquets each week for the Saturday’s Farmers Market.

Handpicked blooms grown here at the Farm, find them at our Market Stall on Saturdays.
