Winter Ceilidh
WINTER CEILIDH PERTH 2026
Scottish Dance Night at Perth City Farm | Live Music, Dancing & Drinks
Saturday 11 July | Perth City Farm, East Perth | TICKETS AVAILABLE HERE
Perth’s Biggest Ceilidh is coming to Perth City Farm. This event’s bar is proudly sponsored by Freo Doctor.
Perth… this is your invitation to something different.
A proper Scottish ceilidh in Perth, right in the heart of the city at Perth City Farm.
Not a performance.
Not something you sit and watch.
This is a live, high-energy Scottish dance event where hundreds of people come together for one big night of music, movement, and connection.
On Saturday 11 July, we’re transforming Perth City Farm into a full-scale ceilidh experience, with a packed dance floor, live band, flowing drinks, and the kind of atmosphere that builds fast and holds all night.
If you’ve been to a ceilidh before, you already know how good this gets.
If you haven’t… you’re about to find out.
What is a Ceilidh? (And Why Perth Loves Them)
A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a traditional Scottish social dance, built for groups, crowds, and people who want to be part of something, not just watch it.
Ceilidhs have been bringing people together for generations, and they’ve found a strong following here in Perth, especially within the Scottish community and anyone who loves a high-energy, social night out.
At a ceilidh, you’ll find:
- Big group dances like Strip the Willow
- Simple instructions called out live by the band
- Strangers becoming dance partners within minutes
- Laughter, chaos, and a lot of spinning
You don’t need to know the steps.
You don’t need to come with a partner.
You just need to be willing to get involved.
This is one of the few events where:
– people meet instantly
– groups mix naturally
and the whole room becomes part of the same experience
Live Scottish Music – Gallus + WA Pipe Band
This isn’t background music. This is what drives the night.
We’ve secured Gallus, an internationally touring ceilidh band known for selling out venues and keeping dance floors full across Australia and beyond.
Gallus are known for:
- high-energy live sets
- traditional Scottish reels and jigs
- a modern twist that keeps the pace up all night
They’ll be joined by the WA Pipe Band, bringing the unmistakable sound of bagpipes to kick off the evening and set the tone properly.
From the first tune, the energy lifts.
From the second, the dance floor fills.
After that… it’s game on.

What to Wear – Kilts, Dresses & Everything In Between
Part of the fun of a ceilidh is the atmosphere, and what people wear plays a big part.
We strongly encourage:
- Kilts
- Posh frocks
- Tartan touches
But there are no rules.
Come dressed up, dressed down, or somewhere in between.
You’ll fit in either way.
Who Should Come?
This event attracts a mix of:
- The Scottish diaspora in Perth
- People who grew up with ceilidhs
- People who have never been to one before
- Groups of friends
- Couples
- Work crews
- Social networks
If you enjoy:
- live music in Perth
- social, high-energy events
- dancing (or giving it a go)
You’ll be right at home.
Tickets – Winter Ceilidh Perth
With 300–500 people expected, tickets are limited and this style of event tends to sell quickly.
If you’re planning to come: don’t leave it too late
This is not a drop-in event.
Once we hit capacity, that’s it.
Why This Event Stands Out in Perth
There are plenty of events in Perth.
Very few create this kind of atmosphere.
A ceilidh is:
- immersive
- social
- unpredictable (in the best way)
- and genuinely memorable
You don’t leave saying: “that was nice”
You leave saying: “what just happened… and when are we doing it again?”
You don’t watch a ceilidh.
You’re part of it.
Grab your tickets, bring your crew, and we’ll see you on the dance floor at Perth City Farm this July.
