Crochet Rag Rugs with Lili

May 25 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am AWST

Learn to make beautiful colourful rag rugs and bring warmth to your home. Lili will teach a simple crochet stitch using a large crochet hook and utilise second hand fabric to start off your own rug. This is an addictive winter hobby- the rug you’re making keeps your knees warm as you crochet, and the stitch is simple enough that you can easily watch tv at the same time.

You’ll leave with a crochet hook to keep, instructions and the start of your first rug. Please bring your own pen, sharp scissors and water bottle.

Image credit to our teacher Lili, who learned this skill at one of our workshops years ago and has become so good she is now teaching for us.

Our weekly farmer’s market will be in full swing during your workshop, so it’s worth arriving a little early to check out the stalls and maybe buy some fresh produce.

Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
