Permaculture Design Course 2025
January 20, 2025 @ 9:00 am - February 1, 2025 @ 4:00 pm AWST
We are excited to announce our Inaugural Permaculture Design Course. This course is offered in collaboration with PEA – Permaculture Educators Alliance.
Permaculture is an approach to designing landscapes which mimic the patterns and relationships found in nature, while yielding an abundance of food, fibre and energy for local needs. You will discover that not a lot of space is needed to design a productive garden that looks as good as it tastes and helps create a more sustainable environment. Our course will focus on urban and suburban permaculture and how to design small spaces to be more productive, efficient and beautiful.
Across the ten days you will spend time in the classroom as well as getting your hands dirty in the gardens at Perth City Farm. You will learn all about:
– Permaculture ethics, principles, zones, elements and functions
– Small space growing solutions
-Theory and practice: soil, soil biology, compost and worm farming
– Plant propagation
– Retrofitting where you live
– Community building
– Useful alternative technologies
– Animals for small properties
– Responsible water management and use
– And much more
You’ll leave with: new knowledge and skills, new friends and oodles of inspiration and enthusiasm.
